I've noticed that you do not include benches in people's gardens or other private land - is there any reason for this?
Yes. Here at benchguru.com we aim to provide a service which is of benefit to as many people as possible. If we started reviewing every bench in existance this would require a huge amount of resources, and visitors to this site would be swamped by lists of inaccessible benches. Worse, it would open the door to abuse by pay-per-sit bench companies, who specialise in providing paid-for bench services, running contrary to the free-to-access benches we review.
Is benchguru.com a parody?
Certainly not! The site creators believe fully in the delivery of accurate, reliable bench information, putting bench-related power back into the hands of consumers. The site has had plenty of detractors, who see benches as trivial outdoor seating devices, but the success of this site has proved that there is a place on the web for another bench review website.
Do you know where I can buy a bench-related gifts?
Benchguru.com does not endorse, review or otherwise comment on manufacturers or sellers of bench gifts. Generally if you are looking for a bench-related present for a loved-one you'll be able to find something suitable by a simple google search.
Why just benches? I'd love to see benchguru.com expand to other areas like waiting-room seats or patches of grass suitable for sitting on in the summer.
Benchguru.com does have ambitious expansion plans, and we are particularly considering the patches of grass suggestion. However, the rapid variation in expected grass-patch quality is likely to mean that the majority of information will quickly become out of date, and we would have to invest in quite a lot of resources to keep everything relevant. We will provide an update when we have any further news about future developments.
